Air Cannon

This is our custom built air cannon built by me (Tom) and Danny. It works off a great big compressor. Here are some videos of us firing it at each other :P.

The air comes in through the compressor when you squeeze the lever on the valve, it flows in through the fitting and into the buffer tank (blue). The buffer tank is an aluminium drinks bottle. The air stays here until the cannon is fired. The firing system is operated through an electrically controlled solonoid valve. When the valve is opened, the air rushes out ejecting whatever is in the barrel (in this case a bit of spud).

This is the first video that we made of the Air Cannon, naturally we wanted to shoot it at something, the treehouse turned out to be quite a good target. Danny stood in the window while I shot at him with it. (When he was whispering, I think he was reffering to himself)

This is where we decided to shoot each other with the air cannon Danny hit me with a glancing blow on the arm (i have much better aim than him) XD

At last I get to shoot Dan with something. But how he felt it through his michellin man coat is quite beyond me.
